Freight Delivery Process

Understand how your Hanso pergola is delivered, what to expect on delivery day, and how to inspect your shipment before signing for it.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

🧾 Overview

All Hanso pergolas are shipped via LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight delivery due to their large size and weight.
This ensures your order arrives safely and securely packaged on pallets.
Freight delivery is curbside only, meaning the driver will unload the shipment at the nearest accessible point to your property.

▼ What to Expect on Delivery Day

Once your shipment reaches the local freight terminal, the carrier will:

  1. Call you in advance to schedule a delivery appointment.

  2. Provide a delivery date and time window (typically 4 hours).

  3. Deliver your order curbside — usually at the end of your driveway or street access point.

💡 Tip: Have 2–3 people available to help move the boxes after delivery. Pergola packages are heavy and vary in size.

▼ Delivery Requirements

  • Someone 18 years or older must be present to sign for the shipment.

  • The carrier’s driver will unload the pallets using a liftgate (if available).

  • Drivers cannot enter your property or carry boxes into your yard or garage.

  • Signature confirmation is required to verify safe receipt.

🧱 If you live in a gated or remote area, please inform our Support Team in advance so the carrier can plan proper access.

▼ Inspecting Your Delivery

Before signing the delivery receipt:

  1. Inspect all boxes and pallets carefully.

    • Look for visible dents, rips, punctures, or signs of damage.

  2. Count the boxes and verify that all expected packages are present.

    • The number of boxes is listed in your shipping confirmation email.

  3. Note any issues on the delivery receipt before signing.

    • Write: “Box damaged – subject to inspection.”

📸 Take clear photos of any visible damage before signing or moving boxes.
This documentation helps expedite replacements if needed.

▼ If Damage or Missing Parts Are Found

If you notice damaged packaging, missing items, or parts upon unboxing:

  1. Take detailed photos of all affected boxes or parts.

  2. Do not discard packaging until the issue is reported.

  3. Contact Hanso Support immediately with your order number and photos.

Our team will review the situation and arrange for replacements or parts to be shipped promptly.

▼ After Delivery

Once your order is safely received:

  • Store the boxes in a dry, covered area until installation.

  • Avoid stacking heavy items on top of pergola components.

  • If you purchased White-Glove Installation, our partner installer will contact you to coordinate your setup date.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Delivery appointments must be confirmed directly with the freight carrier.

  • Missed appointments may result in redelivery fees charged by the carrier.

  • Freight delivery times are subject to carrier scheduling and local route availability.
