Pro+ Pergola Paver Patio Installation Guide

Detailed instructions for installing Hansø Pro+ Pergolas on paver or stone patios. Learn how to reinforce below-surface for a secure, long-lasting foundation.

🧱 Why Reinforcement Is Needed

Hansø Pro+ Pergolas are wind-rated structures (up to 165 mph gusts). Pavers alone cannot resist vertical or uplift forces — hidden concrete footers beneath each post are required.

⚙️ Recommended Method: Flush Concrete Footers

Use when installing on interlocking, brick, or stone pavers.

Steps:

  1. Mark Post Locations

    • Use your Pro+ model’s Outer-to-Outer Post dimension for layout.

  2. Remove Pavers at Post Spots

    • Cut or lift pavers where each post will sit.

  3. Excavate for Footers

    • Hole size: 400 × 400 × 400 mm (16″ × 16″ × 16″).

    • Compact sub-base to eliminate shifting.

  4. Pour Concrete

    • Use 25 MPa (3,600 PSI) concrete mix with small aggregate.

    • Level to match the paver height.

  5. Allow 72 Hours to Cure.

  6. Anchor Pergola Baseplates

    • Once cured, install M12 expansion bolts through each baseplate.

    • Refill edges with joint sand or grout to finish.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Never drill anchors into pavers only.

  • Avoid mortar-set pavers with hollow cavities.

  • Ensure downspout drainage doesn’t terminate between paver seams.

💡 Tip: Add a thin silicone bead under baseplates to prevent water ingress under pavers.
