🧱 Why Preparation Matters
Hansø Pro+ Pergolas are precision-engineered aluminum structures with integrated drainage and wind-rated louvers.
Correct preparation ensures your pergola remains stable, watertight, and perfectly aligned — whether installed on concrete, pavers, or decking.
A proper setup minimizes future issues like louver misalignment, uneven drainage, or structural stress.
📍 Step 1. Site Assessment
Before beginning installation:
Measure Your Space
Verify the selected model’s Post-to-Post Measurement (e.g., 10×13 → 3945 mm × 2784 mm).
Leave at least 6 inches (150 mm) of side clearance from walls, railings, or eaves.
Check Levelness
Surface variation should not exceed 3 mm across the total span.
Drainage Direction
Plan which side will serve as the water runoff path (front or back posts).
Power Access (Motorized Only)
Install a weatherproof outlet within 1.5 m (5 ft) of the control box.
💡 Tip: The Pro+ integrated drainage system requires a slight slope (1–2°) for optimal flow.
🧰 Step 2. Tools & Equipment
Category | Recommended Tools |
Measurement | Tape measure, laser level, chalk line |
Anchoring | Hammer drill, M10–M12 masonry bits, torque wrench |
Fastening | Hex key set, ratchet spanner |
Sealing | Weatherproof silicone or polyurethane |
Safety | Gloves, goggles, hearing protection |
🪜 Step 3. Installation Area Setup
Clear all obstacles where posts or wall mounts will be installed.
Mark post center points using the outer-to-outer post dimension (see your model’s Post-to-Post article).
Cross-check diagonals — both should match exactly for squareness.
Identify any tile, paver, or wood plank that may need core cutting.
⚙️ Step 4. Choosing the Mounting Method
Surface Type | Recommended Method | Reference |
Concrete Slab | Direct anchor with expansion bolts | |
Paver Patio | Hidden or flush concrete footers | Paver Installation Guide |
Wood/Composite Deck | Reinforced joist mounting | Deck Mounting Guide |
Natural Soil | New concrete footers | Ground Installation Guide |
✅ Final Pre-Install Checklist
☐ Surface level within 3 mm
☐ Drain direction decided
☐ Clearance verified (roof/eaves/furniture)
☐ Power outlet accessible (motorized)
☐ Anchor points marked
💡 Double-check all markings before drilling — aluminum tolerances are tight.
