What are the standard electrical wiring exit points for Hanso awnings and pergolas?

Where pergola and awning power cables connect, how to plan your outlet, and what to consider when requesting an alternative exit.

Where your power cable connects

Your pergola or awning has a supplied electrical connection for its installed powered features. The cable route and connection location depend on the product and its mounting configuration.

Pergola power connections

On Apex and Horizon pergolas, the supplied power system operates the motorized louvers and lighting. The cable follows the designated route for that model and configuration, with the controller and power connection positioned as shown in its installation layout.

PRO+ pergolas are available with manual or motorized louvers. Power is needed for the installed electrical features, such as motorized louvers or lighting. The supplied PRO+ electrical layout identifies its motor, lighting and power connections.

Sunshade connections

Only Apex has motorized sunshades with electrical wiring. PRO+ and Horizon sunshades are manually operated and have no sunshade motor or power cable.

Awning power connections

The awning’s power cable exits its cassette. Its position, viewing orientation and available lead length are shown in the installation instructions for the supplied awning. Confirm the connection point before positioning a new outlet.

Planning the outlet location

Place the outlet within the usable reach of the supplied cable, with sufficient slack and without pulling on the lead or connectors. An electrician should confirm the outdoor outlet, circuit capacity, grounding and required protection for your equipment and site.

If you need the connection location confirmed before electrical work begins, send Hanso Support your product model, size, mounting type and installation layout. Clear photos of the planned site and supplied cable help us identify the correct arrangement.

Can the cable exit be moved?

An alternative cable route must be assessed for the particular product and installation. For the Apex arrangement covered by our top-exit guide, the proposed method routes the existing cable upward through the side channel and provides a protected, silicone-sealed opening near the top of the post.

The Apex top-exit method has been confirmed by our installer and is not a manufacturer-provided solution. Suitability must be confirmed for the installed unit. We will explain the modification, cable protection, sealing, appearance and any agreed charges, and obtain your written agreement before drilling or modifying the product.

The installation must retain safe cable routing, correctly seated covers and clear drainage paths. Any new outlets, hardwiring or other electrical alterations must be arranged separately with a licensed electrician unless covered by an agreed additional scope.
