Awning Installation Scope & Electrical Connections

What awning installers handle, electrical work that is excluded, and how to prepare power for installation day.

Understand what our Professional Installation Service includes and how to prepare the electrical connection for your motorized awning.

What is included?

  • Assembly and mounting of the awning listed in your installation quote.

  • Installation of awning accessories listed in your quote, following the applicable product instructions.

  • Testing the awning's operation using the nearest accessible, suitable outlet.

Other services are included only when listed in your installation quote.

What electrical work is excluded?

Professional installation does not include electrical work on your property. Our installers do not:

  • Hardwire the awning into your home's electrical system.

  • Install, relocate, or repair outlets.

  • Extend, splice, or modify electrical wiring or the supplied power cord.

  • Install circuits, conduit, or connections to an electrical panel.

  • Route a power connection through walls or connect the awning to an indoor electrical system.

  • Repair or reconnect existing property wiring or light fixtures.

Please arrange any required electrical work separately with a licensed electrician.

Does testing include a permanent power connection?

No. The installer tests the awning using the nearest accessible, suitable outlet. This does not include creating a permanent connection at your preferred location.

If the supplied cord cannot reach the intended outlet, an electrician will need to assess the setup and carry out any required electrical work separately.

What should I prepare before installation?

  1. Review the installation manual for your exact awning model.

  2. Confirm the planned awning orientation and power-cord exit location with Hanso Support before arranging electrical work.

  3. Have your electrician review the product's power requirements and planned outlet location.

  4. Ensure a working, suitable power source is accessible for testing on installation day.

  5. Tell Hanso Support before the visit if power will not be available or if you have questions about the connection.

Cord length, connection location, and power requirements depend on the product. Contact Hanso Support for the information applicable to your order.

Do photos or an assessment include electrical work?

No. Photos, videos, and an on-site assessment help us review the area and plan the visit. They do not add electrical work to the service purchased.

Showing an outlet in a photo or video does not confirm that the supplied cord will reach it or that the outlet is suitable for the awning.

What if power is unavailable on installation day?

Notify Hanso Support before your appointment. Without a suitable power source, the installer may be unable to complete operational testing. The Installation Team will advise on next steps based on your order and site conditions.
