Safety Precautions
Avoid Adjusting While Mounted: While it is technically possible to adjust the tension with the cassette still mounted, this is not recommended. Limited working space near the pre-loaded spring increases the risk of slips, pinched fingers, or fabric damage.
Work on a Flat Surface: Always remove the cassette and side rails as a unit and place them on a stable, flat surface for adjustments. This ensures better control and reduces risks.
Step-by-Step Guide for Tension Adjustment
Remove the Assembly: Detach the cassette and side rails from their mounted position. Ensure the assembly is placed securely on a flat surface.
Locate the Tension Adjuster: Find the tension adjustment mechanism at the end of the roller.
Make Incremental Adjustments: Turn the adjuster in small increments (e.g., 2–3 full turns) to increase tension. Avoid making large adjustments at once.
Test the Tension: After each adjustment, pull the shade partway down and let it retract. The bottom bar should reach the cassette smoothly without snapping. If the shade retracts too aggressively or becomes difficult to pull down, reduce the tension slightly.
Reinstall the Assembly: Once the tension is properly adjusted, remount the cassette and side rails, ensuring they are square and secure.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Shade Snaps Up Too Quickly: Reduce the tension by turning the adjuster counterclockwise in small increments.
Shade Does Not Retract Fully: Increase the tension slightly and test again.
Difficulty in Adjustment: Ensure the assembly is stable and you have clear access to the tension adjuster.
