Pairing a New Somfy Remote to Your Awning

Step-by-step guide on how to pair a new Somfy remote with your Hansø motorized awning, including instructions for both scenarios—with or without an existing remote.

If you’ve purchased a new Somfy remote or need to replace an existing one, follow the steps below to successfully pair it with your Hansø motorized awning.


🪄 Step 1: Prepare the New Remote

  • Ensure the new remote has a working battery installed.

  • Identify the Channel Selector Button and the “my” button on the remote.


⚙️ Step 2: Place the Motor in Programming Mode

Option 1: If you have a working remote

  1. On the existing remote, press and hold the “my” button until the awning jogs (a quick in-and-out motion).

  2. The motor is now in programming mode.

Option 2: If you do NOT have a working remote

  1. Power cycle the motor using the following sequence:

    • Unplug the motor (or turn off power at the breaker) for 2 seconds.

    • Plug it back in for 8 seconds.

    • Unplug again for 2 seconds.

    • Plug it back in once more.

  2. After a few seconds, the awning will jog, confirming the motor is now in programming mode.


📡 Step 3: Pair the New Remote

  1. On the new remote, press the “my” button briefly.

  2. The awning should jog again, confirming successful pairing.

  3. Test the new remote using UP, DOWN, and “my” buttons.


✅ Step 4: Exit Programming Mode

  • Press and hold the “my” button again on the new remote until the awning jogs once more.

  • This confirms that the motor has exited programming mode.


⚠️ Troubleshooting

If the awning does not respond:

  • Repeat the steps carefully, ensuring the power cycling sequence and motor jog confirmations are correct.

  • Make sure the remote has a fresh battery and is within range of the awning receiver.
