Pro+ Pergola Planning & Layout Guide

Helps you plan the ideal placement, orientation, and clearances for your Hansø Pro+ Pergola to maximize shade and drainage efficiency.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

🧭 Determine Orientation

  • Louvers should run east-west to control sun exposure throughout the day.

  • Position the motorized beam on the least visible side for aesthetics and service access.

📐 Layout Marking

  1. Use your model’s Outer-to-Outer Post measurements.

  2. Mark four corners using chalk or laser.

  3. Measure both diagonals; they must be equal.

  4. Plan a minimum 150 mm (6″) wall gap for drainage clearance.

🌤️ Shade Coverage Estimates

Model

Dimensions (m/ft)

Usable Shade Area

10×10

3×3 m / 10×10 ft

≈ 100 ft² (9 m²)

10×13

3×4 m / 10×13 ft

≈ 130 ft² (12 m²)

13×13

4×4 m / 13×13 ft

≈ 170 ft² (16 m²)

13×19

4×6 m / 13×19 ft

≈ 250 ft² (23 m²)

💡 Tip: To extend coverage, align pergola with existing shade lines or add optional retractable screens.

🧩 Space Integration

  • Maintain 900 mm (36″) walkway clearance around perimeter.

  • For wall-mount versions, check gutter alignment with house downspouts.

  • Verify accessory clearance (heater/light) before ordering.
