Hanso does not recommend attaching a wall-mounted pergola to a weak, unsupported, damaged, or unsuitable wall surface.
Important freestanding installation note
For a freestanding Apex Pergola, the surface must still be suitable for anchoring.
Before choosing freestanding, please confirm:
The installation area is level
The surface is structurally suitable
The pergola can be properly anchored
There is enough clearance around the structure
Footers or additional anchoring may be needed depending on the surface
Freestanding does not mean the pergola can simply sit on the ground without being secured. It must be properly anchored for safety and performance.
Which option should I choose?
Choose Freestanding if you want a standalone pergola that does not attach to your home.
Choose Wall-Mounted if you want the pergola connected to your home or building and your wall is suitable for attachment.
