Pro+ Pergola — Hand Crank Leak Repair Guide

Updated this week

💧 Overview

If you notice water leaking from the hand crank area of your Hansø Pro+ Pergola, this guide will walk you through how to safely inspect, seal, and reassemble the crank mechanism using a grommet and waterproof adhesive.

🛠️ Repair Instructions

1. Remove the Top Plate

  • Using a Stanley knife, carefully lift the small plate directly above the hand crank pivot.

  • Be gentle to avoid scratching the surface.

2. Remove Side Screws

  • With a star-bit drill, remove the two screws from the side panel near the crank.

  • Set the screws aside for reassembly.

3. Detach the Gear Mechanism

  • Locate the gear pin extending from the pergola.

  • Use the same star-bit drill to remove the screw on this pin.

  • Manually operate the louvers open and closed to confirm movement.

  • Lift the metal rod and extract the rotating gear mechanism.

4. Insert and Seal the Grommet

  • Insert the rubber grommet into the outer hole where the leak occurs.

  • Apply adhesive inside the hole before inserting the grommet.

  • Once in place, coat the outer edges of the grommet with a layer of waterproof glue or sealant to create a watertight barrier.

5. Reassemble the Crank Mechanism

  • After all components are correctly aligned, reinsert the rotating mechanism back into position.

  • Reattach the screws and top plate, ensuring everything is tight and properly sealed.

  • Test the crank to confirm smooth operation and no leakage.

⚠️ Tips & Notes

  • Allow sealant or glue to fully cure before exposing the area to rain.

  • Use only outdoor-grade waterproof adhesive for longevity.

  • If water continues to leak after repair, contact Hansø Support with photos or a short video for further assistance.
